7 ways to help soreness after a hard workout

Ever experienced muscle soreness and fatigue after going hard at the gym? That’s only normal. Don’t panick! It’s all good, it all means you’re doing the right things. Although, there are a few things you can do to reduce the fatigue and rebuild your muscle fibers.

Here are 7 steps that will help you take care of your body while working out:

Stay hydrated by drinking at least 2 liters of water a day and make sure you fuel your muscles with liquids during the workout.
Balance your diet with the right amount of protein, carbs and fats. In particular, consume enough carbohydrates to keep your body energized during exercise. Get at least 35-40% of your calories from carbs.
Warm up your muscles before starting the workout for about 10 minutes.
Stretch your muscles after any exercise, lengthen them and perfrom stretching exercises that target the worked muscles.
Take up yoga as it will reduce muscle tightness and will improves flexibility of your muscles.
Don’t overtrain. Let the muscles you’ve worked rest for about two days. Wait until they’re no longer sore.
Get good sleep, at least 7 hours of sleep during the days you workout.
